Numbers 14:40-42

⁴⁰ In the morning, however, they got up early and went up to the ^[a]ridge of the hill country, saying, “^(A)Here we are; and we will go up to the place which the Lord has ^[b]promised, for ^[c]we have sinned.” ⁴¹ But Moses said, “^(B)Why then are you ^(C)violating the ^[d]command of the Lord, when doing so will not succeed? ^42 (D)Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, ^[e]to prevent you from being defeated ^[f]by your enemies.
